Our chapter was named in honor of the man who in 1801 became the first sole land owner of Franklin Township in which Kent, Ohio, is located.

Our chapter was founded by Dene Marie Barber on October 8, 1921. Since then, we have had 38 different regents.

Our Location

Our members come from all over the area, including Kent, Stow, and various communities in Portage and Summit Counties.

Our Meetings

We meet monthly in the afternoons September to December and February to June, usually on the 2nd Saturday at a historic house in Kent, Ohio. Past presentations have included genealogy, scrapbooking, the Ohio-Erie Canal, the Kent Historical Society, and book reviews by members, to name a few. After the presentation, we enjoy a social time with coffee, tea, and treats.
