The Canton Chapter DAR, founded on November 20, 1908, is still going strong almost 120 years later. We are a non-political, volunteer women's service organization, dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and fostering better education for our children.

We meet the first Wednesday of every month, with the exception of January, and on two Saturdays during the year. Our members live all over Stark County: from Canton, North Canton, Jackson Township, Louisville, Hartville, Lake Township, Canal Fulton, Plain Township, Malvern, Bolivar, Canton South, and Carrollton.

Although DAR members come from a variety of backgrounds and interests, we all share a common bond of having a proven ancestor who either fought in or supported the American War of Independence. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove their lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible to join.

Do you have a Revolutionary War patriot in your family? Please contact us to learn more about our chapter. Not sure if you have a patriot? Contact us anyway and we will try to help you find out!

We look forward to hearing from you!
