Jared Mansfield Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution was organized on March 8, 1919. Twenty-seven ladies became charter members of the chapter with Agnes Long (Mrs H L) Creveling assuming position of first regent. We have had 47 regents since 1919, of whom 11 are still living. Our chapter is named for Jared Mansfield (1759-1830) of Connecticut, Surveyor General of Ohio and the Northwest Territory (1803-1812) and after whom our town of Mansfield, Ohio, is named.
Jared Mansfield supports service to veterans, promotes patriotism and is actively involved in genealogical research and historical preservation as many of our members are volunteers at the Samuel D. Isaly Library of the Ohio Genealogical Society.
